Order kimchee online!

I just received kimchee in the mail at work today! I’m been wanting to do this for such a long time…it started out with me rapidly becoming addicted to these small 15oz jars of ‘Rejuvenative’ brand fermented kimchee at the grocery store. They’re soooooo Freakin Good, i want to start screaming at people. I’ve been trying to imitate making them for a while but with little luck so far.

The catch here is these little buggers are $10 a jar, and last me aprox 10 mins with a little self restraint…lately i’ve been running out of the self restraint and unwilling to forego my kimchee addiction, I manuevered for a better position…ordering the stuff online in bulk.

This kimchee is made by the deer garden foods people and sold on the website http://www.rejuvenative.com, on this website not only can you order much larger quanities of kimchee but you also can get an assort of fresh raw nut butters, raw cold pressed oils, other fermented veggie delicacies, and live fermented salsa. Anyway, thankyou deer garden folk…I hope this is the start of a long and beautiful relationship!

So about this kimchee…welll it’s pretty tight stuff. The ingredients are dirt simple. And consequently you can also make it yourself, here is a link to my post Spicy Living Kimchi.

* certified and grown organicly
Cabbage*, carrots*, onions*, Celtic Sea SaltĀ®, ginger*, ground dried red peppers*

And besides being wickedly delicious, absurdly addicting, and frantically exciting, it makes you FEEL GOOD! This is full of life, and your body knows it. I’ve been having a rather rough time being happy lately, but with a Very Large jar of kimchee sitting in my fridge right now, I don’t even give a shit. Send me down the tubes, kiss my ass goodbye, but i’m taking my kimchee with me dangnabbit!

the elusive dumpster kraut

Yesterday while running between clients I stopped at the good food store, [Leon calls it Gufus] to get some soup for lunch. Pulling out of the parking lot I noticed some boxes of produce sitting out by the dumpster. I stopped and sifted through them for a few moments, picked out a few heads of lettuce, two carrots, a handful of leeks, and some bits of cabbage.

I headed back to the office feeling quite proud of myself for scavenging some yummy produce from the town dump. After arriving, I spent a few minutes sitting in front of the computer, then it struck me. I was a complete idiot, where is my audacity??? There was a WHOLE box of cabbage, green cabbages, white cabbages, red cabbages, and napa cabbage, and all I did was grab a handful of leaves? Whats WRONG with me???

Immediately after work, I jumped back in the car and sped off to the Gufus dumpster, hoping to see a big rosy box of cabbage just waiting for me. I pull up and stop the car…someone had already grabbed ALL THREE boxes of produce. For ultimate shame. Hearty ho…dumpsterkraut one day, one day…
